Spring has sprung, and there are a million things to do! In Yakima, we inked a deal for wafla members to receive a large discount on worker housing at FairBridge Inn on N. 1st Street. Watch your inbox for more details.

On April 19 we kicked off construction (Hard Hat Ceremonyfor a 166-bed Riverview Meadows housing in Okanogan, set to open this fall. Learn more. And finally, we received the official award notice from the Department of Commerce to start work on another 166-bed housing project in Chelan, due to open Spring 2019.

Q. I have heard that Governor Inslee just signed a new law prohibiting employers from inquiring into someone's criminal history on a job application that goes into effect early next month. Can you tell me more?

Worker Pesticide Training Now Available Weekly in Kennewick

Starting Wednesday, May 16, wafla is now offering weekly Worker Protection Standard (WPS) Washington state pesticide training for workers and handlers in English and Spanish at our Training Center in Kennewick. Classes will be held three times a day every Wednesday. The classes are two hours long and cost $5 per worker. You must be a wafla member to register your workforce. Register and learn more here.
